授業概要 Course overview	Students will learn pathogenic factors, preventive measures, and treatments of invasive infectious diseases, drug-resistant organism infections, and nosocomial infections through epidemiological studies.	Students will read the latest original papers related to infectious diseases, understand the purposes, methods, and results of the research, and discuss the significance, problems, and remaining issues of the research.	Students will learn basic techniques for researching infectious diseases, plan and perform investigations on their own, and discuss the results.
授業の到達目標（学修成果） Course Objectives (Learning Outcomes) ←SBO(Specific Behavior Objectives	Students will be able 1. to present the purpose, methods, experimental results, significance, and future of their own research 2. to explain the position and originality of their own research in the relevant field. 3. to understand  questions and comments for their presentation and to improve the quality of their research through the discussion	Students will be able 1. to select critical papers among scientific journals or online search system 2. to read the articles and to explain their outlines to other students within a specified time 3. to read and understand articles selected by other students and to discuss the significance of the research and remaining questions 4. to explain historical significance of each article and its position in the overall context.	Students will be able 1. to understand techniques required for microbiological research and to practice basic techniques 2. to acquire basic experimental techniques necessary for investigation of infectious diseases.

授業計画 Course Schedule 第1回（月日、時限）担当教員名　講義内容など	Wed 19:00- Students will present their research objectives, methods, results and their significance, and future research to be conducted, take questions and comments, and respond to them in the assigned class.	Mon 8:00- Assign students in order for the selection of an original paper and the explanation of its content. The assigned students should report in advance the selected paper and read and understood before the class. In class, the outline will be explained to the instructor and other students within the specified time, and questions will be answered.	Mon 18:30-, Teu 8:30-, Wed 8:30- After setting the research theme, students will learn the basics of the research method, focusing on those related to their own research theme. Students will perform experiments based on their own experimental plans, and present and discuss the results. Based on these results and discussions, a subsequent experiment plan is drawn up, and the cycle of performing experiments, presenting the results, and making discussions is repeated.

成績評価方法 Grading Criteria	Students are evaluated by the achievement of the objectives listed in the SBO. - Good achieved under supervision in the SBOs 1 and 2:  Pass (C). - Good achieved under supervision in the SBOs 1 - 3, and actively conducted SBO 4:  Pass (B). SBOs 1 - 3 will be evaluated based on a brief report in terms of presentation and dicsussion. - Excellent achievement in SBOs 1-4, and good achievement in SBOs 5-7: (A) - Outstanding achievement with enough evidence in all SBOs : Pass (A+)	Students are evaluated by the achievement of the objectives listed in the SBO. - Good achieved  in the SBOs 1 and 2:  Pass (C). - Good achieved in the SBOs 1 - 2, and actively conducted SBO 3:  Pass (B). Based on written summary of papers (A4 1 page, twice a month).  good achievement including SBO 4 is confirmed,: Pass (A). - Outstanding achievement with enough evidence in all SBOs : Pass (A+)	Skills to obtain reliable experimental results （50%） Understanding of results, and ability to design next experiments will be evaluated by experimental notebook and discussion （50%） A+: Superior (more than 90: top 10%) A: Excellent (80-89: upper 20%) B: Good (70-79) C: Average (60-69) D: Failure (less than 60)
