Students will first learn the basic principles of scientific writing style and composition. They will then apply these principles by writing and editing their own research papers. |

1. To learn the building blocks of scientific writing in English: word choice, sentence structure, paragraph structure 2. To learn the appropriate content and organization of the IMRAD format: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion 3. To be able to identify problems commonly associated with each section of the research paper 4. Through the process of peer editing and discussion, to become familiar with explaining and discussing research in English with fellow scientists 5. To write a research paper in English by bringing together objectives (1) to (4) |
