Our research proposal for genome and epigenome analysis of human samples
collected from space flight was selected by Japan Aerospace Exploration
Agency, JAXA (
link). In addition to ongoing mouse flight project, International Spece Station
(ISS) projects aim to investigate how human and mammals respond to space
environment.

FY2015 funding results were announced. Our research proposals on cancer
clinical sample analysis were funded by Japan Society for the Promotion
of Science, JSPS.

Happy New Year! We are planning to recruit staff scientist (this position
will be non-PI, tenure-track, permanent, assistant professor position,
called 'Jokyo' in Japanese system, also can apply for own grants as project
PI). This is also an excellent position for fresh graduates who recently
obtained (or expecting) PhD. Official announcement will be made soon...

Chia-Hao Yen, summer student from National Taiwan University, presented
his project at programm event. Chia-Hao's project was to obtain ChIPseq
data from public databases and analyze using Galaxy and other web-based
tools for his own thesis project in Taiwan. He also leaned ChIP assay.

Gastric cancer chromatin profiling study performed in Singapore was published
in Nature Communications.
(Link) This paper highlighted potentiasl roles of cryptic promoter activation
to drive non-cannonical forms of developmental transcription factors, potentially
altering cell-fate in cancer.
